“The Wizard of Oz” by the Shenandoah Ballet is based on the original story written by L. Frank
Baum and the beloved 1939 MGM movie.
Artistic Director, Missy Belcher Floyd, has compiled a musical score by various composers to set original choreography for her dancers to tell this story. The music, the choreography and the casting are all designed to bring Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion to life on the stage of the Historic Masonic Theatre in Clifton Forge.
True to Shenandoah Ballet style, this production is a full length version of this story. Dancers will bring to life the Munchkins, the Yellow Brick Road, the poppies, the haunted forest, the Winged Monkeys and more!
Audiences are sure to find something in this production that brings back memories of watching this movie on television every spring. This production is appropriate for all ages and can be enjoyed by boys and girls.
Dancers in this production range in age from 3 to 60+
