As the son of Odin (Anthony Hopkins), king of the Norse gods, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) will soon inherit the throne of Asgard from his aging father. However, on the day that he is to be crowned, Thor reacts with brutality when the gods’ enemies, the Frost Giants, enter the palace in violation of their treaty. As punishment, Odin banishes Thor to Earth. While Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Thor’s brother, plots mischief in Asgard, Thor, now stripped of his powers, faces his greatest threat. Run time, 1 hour, 55 minutes
The Masonic Theatre Preservation Foundation cordially invites Frontliners and their families to a movie screening of THOR on Thursday, August 6 at the Masonic Amphitheatre.
Concessions open at 8:00 pm and the movie begins at 8:45 pm. The movie screening admission is free of charge and the popcorn and drink are on us–a small thank you for all you’ve done for our community during the COVID-crisis.
The Amphitheatre is located at 513 Church Street. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets or use our benches. Social distance seating is observed and masks are requested if going into the Masonic Theatre Underground for restrooms or concessions.
We thank our Frontliners: police, rescue squad, fire department, public works employees, for all you’ve done these past few months.
THOR, a superhero movie for our superheroes is sponsored by The Way Coffee Shop, Shorty and Tammy Wolfe, Susan and Ron Goings, and The Historic Masonic Theatre.
