The Commonwealth of Virginia’s official Opry, The Virginia Opry, and The Historic Masonic Theatre have teamed up to bring back Cash Unchained to perform its nationally prominent “Tribute to the Man in Black” that packed The Historic Masonic Theatre on March 31, 2023.
Cash Unchained’s performances feature James Tamelcoff III, the band’s vocalist dressed like Johnny Cash.
He and his band continue to tour the nation paying tribute to the late Johnny Cash, one of country’s music’s most iconic performers who like Elvis drew large crowds such as the one at Soldier Field in Chicago where 55,000 turned out to one of Cash’s performances that featured Tex Ritter along with The Statler Brothers as opening acts.
Tamelcoff III, a virtuoso guitarist, and his band have mastered the sound unique to Cash in such hits as “Folsom Prison Blues,” “Ring of Fire,” “A Boy Named Sue,’ ‘Jackson,” and “I Walk the Line.” Tamelcoff III’s rich voice has captured the sound of Cash in such a way that one in the audience could close one’s eyes and think Cash himself was sharing his hits from the stage.
Cash Unchained is one of The Virginia Opry’s 10 bands, and Tamelcoff III, who is based in Charlottesville, Va., has filled venues across the country prior to his 30 th birthday. He is a songwriter and Nashville recording artist, and he often teams up with Country Music Recording Artist Keith Bryant to perform as a country music duo.
All tickets are subject to a $5 ticket fee.
Tickets are nonrefundable
